Semester 2 Final Exam: Clone and Chimera Project

  • Clones are organisms that are exact genetic copies. Every single bit of their DNA is identical. Clonescan happen naturally—identical twins are just one of many examples.
  • In Greek mythology the Chimera was a three-headed monster which ravaged the countryside of Lycia
  • You will have 5 days in class to work on this.  Should you fall behind it is your responsibility to work on it elsewhere.

Points will be given for each part of the assignment. Which means do the whole assignment for all the points.

Here is the project now that you have done the research:

Show what you know!

  • Option 1:  Now that you know a bit about cloning you need to pick an animal currently on the "to clone" list or an animal that could be cloned, and make an advertisement for or against cloning that animal.  Make sure you research the animal's habitat, mating habits, eating habits etc. to get a full understanding of what you should write about.  The poster should include pictures and facts.  Hint: Go back to #1.
  • Option 2: Focusing on the Human-Animal Chimera research make an educational poster that would sway someone's thoughts for or against this research.  The poster needs to be fact based using real data.
